Working Out Before 9:00pm!

Wow!  I still want to get out for a run so not counting that completely out yet but was able to get a quick but decent workout in WAY earlier than usual tonight and feeling really good from it!  Looking forward to getting 100% back on track soon!

Feeling powerfully motivated tonight and wishing I could do more — thank you to that internal ‘fuel’

Drop It and Get Healthy….

Thank You

First of all I have to give thanks to each and every one of you for following me on my journey so far – I couldn’t keep this blog going if it weren’t for all of you and your support!  So — THANK YOU!  ♥

Also — a BIG THANK YOU to my ever loving and supporting husband, I wouldn’t have made it this far with any of this without his love and support!  THANK YOU HONEY!! ♥

Ok – onward….

I started this blog about a year and a half ago with the intention of helping motivate others to eat healthier and live healthier lifestyles AS WELL AS to keep ME accountable and on track =)

In the process not only have I lost 15 pounds and gotten stronger (and still going) but I’ve also discovered a few other ways to help keep me and my family healthy and I wanted to take this moment to share them with all of you.

As some of you may know I absolutely LOVE coffee!  I wake up with coffee and go to sleep with coffee most nights.  What I’ve learned though is that there is a MUCH healthier coffee out there and it costs LESS than Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts!!  What????  I know, it’s crazy!!!  Have any of you heard of Organo Gold Coffee?  “Organo Gold is the only North American company who has partnered with the largest certified organic Ganoderma plantations in the world to bring this “treasure of life” to the Western world.” “Once the Ganoderma mushrooms have been transformed, it is added to the Organo Gold family of products, including beverages such as our Gourmet Black Coffee, Gourmet Café Latte, Gourmet Café Mocha, and Organic Green Tea.”  If you’d like to learn more or sample one of the coffees let me know!

Next — Young Living Essential Oils — well, what can I say???  All I can really say is that these oils have truly changed mine and my families lives.  We are so much happier and healthier since using YLEO, they are truly a blessing!  Did you know that the Bible, both the New and Old Testaments, contains tons of references (over 200) to essential oils, incense, ointments, and other aromatics?  They were used in religious rituals, for anointing and for supporting the health of people.  In the Old Testament Moses was given a recipe for a “holy anointing oil”. It included the essential oils of myrrh, cinnamon, calamus, and cassia as well as pure olive oil. It is well known that the wise men of the New Testament, upon visiting the Christ child, gave him frankincense and myrrh. Another well known incident is when Mary anointed the feet of Jesus with a large amount of the expensive essential oil of spikenard and then wiped his feet with her hair. I find it extremely interesting and inspiring that they used essential oils in Biblical times.

So….with all of that being said — this past year and a half have been quite a turning point for me and my family.  We are all focusing on living healthier lifestyles both from the inside as well as from the outside.  If you would like to learn more about the changes we’ve made in our lifestyles please let me know – I’ll be happy to connect offline!

Stay Strong!!

How Do You Decide

on who to help and who not to??

This post is a bit different then my usual posts but it has to do with something that I can’t stop thinking about tonight:

As I was getting ready to leave the ferry parking lot tonight – I gentlemen appeared from nowhere at the front of my car.  He had his hands held out as if to say that he meant me no harm but my natural instincts led me to drive away from him.

As I’m leaving the parking lot and head up the street a little I see another man standing on the corner with a sign that read “Homeless, please help” and again, I drove away.

As I drove away from both men this evening I felt very heavy hearted and I could think of was this

So….I ask you again: How do you decide on who to help and who not to??

October Challenge – Day 1!

HELLO OCTOBER!!!!

This is definitely one of my favorite months of the year for many different reasons…. 1, it’s my birthday month 🎈 2, it’s mine and my husbands dating & wedding anniversary 💍 3, I absolutely love the weather & colors of Fall in NY 🍁🍂🍁.

With that being said — I’m still not well enough to run but couldn’t let a new month start without jumping into another self-inflicted challenge.

I’m setting some real tough goals for myself for this month and am looking forward to crushing them!!

Septembers goal was to finish the month at 125 which I achieved on Sept 15 but I keep teetering between 125 & 127 so I really need to be mindful of what I’m putting into my body and my workout routines to keep those numbers in check.

Anyway….kicking off the month with a mild at-home workout but still a workout nonetheless….
